Chef Blaine Wetzel Gets a Deal to Write Willows Inn Book Chef Blaine Wetzel Gets a Deal to Write Willows Inn Book

blaine-wetzel.jpgChef Blaine Wetzel of the Willows Inn on Lummi Island in Washington state has signed a book deal with Running Press. It doesn't quite sound like it will be a cookbook? Or at least the official description doesn't mention recipes. According to Publishers Marketplace, it will be "the story of how Wetzel's commitment to local eating created a world-class establishment in a town of fewer than 1,000 people." And they do mean commitment to local eating: think canning and fishing and closing for three months in the winter.

The 27-year-old Wetzel has been a Beard Award nominee and was part of the 2012 class of Food & Wine Best New Chefs. He also worked for Rene Redzepi at Noma for "about two years." No word on when the book will be released; details as they're available.
