Here's the trailer to the charming and very French-looking Haute Cuisine, a film currently screening at the Tribeca Film Festival based on the true story of the personal chef to former French president François Mitterrand (Jean d'Ormesson). Hortense Laborie (Catherine Frot) is selected from her rural French restaurant to come to Paris and cook for the president, where she says things like "Screw the dietician!" while plating slabs of foie gras and butts heads with the kitchen's snooty/grouchy main chefs (obviously). Haute Cuisine, directed by Christian Vincent, will screen April 25 and 27 during the film festival; watch the trailer below.
